Neighbors Helping Neighbors: Charleston Area Volunteer Opportunities
Do you want to know how to improve the community where you live? There’s no better way than to give some of your time to a local charitable organization that supports those who are less fortunate. In Charleston, there are endless ways to give back.
Education
Just down the street from the first residential neighborhoods at Point Hope, the Philip Simmons schools (K-12) are helping children prepare for their futures and build a better tomorrow. But the faculty and staff at our community schools can’t do it alone. They are in constant need of volunteers to help with school events, mentoring programs, PTA fundraisers and more. You can complete an online application at https://apps.raptortech.com/Apply. You must be over the age of 18 to apply.
Philanthropy
The new Cainhoy Peninsula Rotary Club is a satellite club sponsored by the Rotary Club of Daniel Island, an internationally recognized Club that has raised millions of dollars for philanthropic initiatives in the past two decades. As part of the global Rotary network of 1.4 million participants worldwide, the Cainhoy Peninsula Rotary Club aims to take action to create lasting change within our communities through its philanthropic efforts, educational services and charity events. The shelter offers offsite and onsite volunteer opportunities, and you can also donate towards medical expenses, foster supplies and general care.
