Meet Your Neighbors: The Barbare Family
After years living in Maryland, Michelle and John Barbare decided it was time for a change and started researching communities in the Charleston area. They learned about Point Hope from their local realtor and, after doing some initial research online, they submitted an inquiry for more information.
Erin Dudley, Point Hope’s Community Services Manager, helped the Barbares schedule a visit to Charleston and the community this past January, including setting up appointments with our three builders to discuss home options. Fast forward six months, the Barbare family, including sons Cameron (7 yrs) and Grant (3 yrs), are getting settled into their new Toll Brothers home in the First Light neighborhood.
John recently answered some Q&As for us about their decision to move to Charleston and selecting Point Hope as their new home. Welcome to Point Hope, Barbare family. We’re thrilled to have you!
Q. What drew you to Charleston when you decided to relocate?
A. I attended The Citadel, so I was very familiar with the area. After living in Maryland for years, Michelle and I wanted the coastal climate and proximity to the beach, southern hospitality and a growing community with schools.
Q. What are you most excited to do now that you live in Charleston?
A. We want to explore the beaches and all the water activities – kayaking, fishing and boating. And pretty much enjoy all of the outdoor activities available year-round.
Q. What aspect of Point Hope are you most looking forward to?
A. The running trails, open spaces to play sports with the kids and future pool/activity centers.
Q. Did you enjoy the building process?
A. Yes. We selected the Rosemary home plan by Toll Brothers.
Q. What feature in your new home do you enjoy using the most?
A. The porch and watching the sun go down over the woods.
Q. What comes to mind when you think “home”?
A. A place to relax.
